Approximately 80 percent of consumers would rather watch a live video than read a blog and 82 percent prefer live video to written social media updates in 2017. This phenomenon accounts for the popularity of many vlog channels on YouTube and other social media platforms.

As a result, most marketers have included this method into their marketing plans to increase their brand awareness and engagement with clients. Additionally, many brands are finding success by live streaming events as it helps to broadcast event so that followers all over the world would be able to participate from behind their screens.

Instagram Stories

The introduction of Instagram Stories began as direct competition for the story-oriented app Snapchat. Instagram Stories became popular as it featured a series of bubbles at the top of the app that showed other users’ photos and video clips for up to 24 hours. The feauture also utlized augmented reality (AR) filters that allowed the user to apply a few changes to their appearance and enhance their images and videos.

With the growing popularity of Instagram Stories many businesses have decided to produce a story each month which yields at least one direct message from a consumer.

This strategy has changed the face of marketing to include more interaction between users and provides a detailed look into their lives.

ChatBots on Social Media

ChatBots are Social Media listening tools allow organizations to track conversations that use specific phrases, words or brands. This goes beyond analyzing what audiences are doing and saying, this now opens opportunities for evaluating what they think of the brand, and what they might want to see next.

This product enables the company to leverage this information to their benefit to improve their product which by extension creates a smoother customer experience. In developing a marketing campaign, it would be of great benefit to the company for them to utilize this option which to allow them to program chatbots to autorespond to incoming social media messages.
